I like to play in the new park in Thompkins Square and at the water park. I like to look at cute babies like the one you have.

Eating the lunch and talking to my stomach. I like to play with my friends like Analisa and my new friend, the baby!

It’s good. I like math—geo blocks are my favorite. Writing is so hard. Other kids distract me sometimes.

We get to go to recess and now the playground is so much better than the old one.

I like first grade because I get to learn. I get to learn how to write and do math.

I live across the street. My mom’s name is Tamika. She always wears a red du-rag. My dad lives in Brooklyn. I have my sister, Starmika, she’s in second grade, and a baby who lives with my dad. My baby brother, Avery, he always follows me around and crawls on the floor. That means he loves me.

I like to eat food and drink water because water is good for you. I like to write.
What is your favorite thing about EVCS?
This is a new school to me. I like it because I get to write and use the bathroom all by myself. We had lunch and then went back to class with no recess in my old school.

Good because we are building block workers. We do a good job cleaning up. When I build a never want to stop. I say “oh man!” when it’s time to stop building.

I live with my mom and my dad and oh yeah, my brother. My dad has no hair and my mom has curly hair. My brother goes to this school now. He’s on the second floor but I’m on the fourth floor now.
What are some of your hobbies? What do you like to do?
I like toys. After school my dad brings toys with him for us, whatever you ask him for. I like to ride my bike. My brother uses training wheels, but not me!
What is your favorite thing about EVCS?
We’re learning about liquids and solids for science in class with Roberta. I like the art hanging on the walls in our school.

How is first grade going so far?
Really good! I get to do writing and I love gym. Once I wrote all the way to the bottom of the page!

I live close by EVCS. You know my family! I live with my mom, dad, my brother, Ruben—you already know him, Clara! I used to have a dog. My cat’s name is Ellie. Sometimes we speak Spanish, sometimes English.

I like to play hide and seek, tag, hand games and sometimes I like to play with toys.

Now we like first grade so far because we don’t like kindergarten anymore. I like the new kids that listen. And they do math and they play with blocks.

I like to play with my brother’s x-box, we play Indiana Jones, this Lego game and computers. Also I like to write.

I liked to learn about the praying mantis. See the pictures of it up there? They only eat the fly’s body, but not the wings.

I like to cook, and wash dishes. I like to play Shoots and Ladders.

I like how there are drawings of fairies on the walls in the hallways. I like the kids. I can play with them outside.
