Journal Writing and Cloud Watching

Dear Families,

This week we read a book called Diary of a Worm. We are writing in journals for Writing Workshop. That's why Clara read the book to us. The worm writes in his diary about his life!

We made play thermometers in science this week. We're going to take them home next week. Today we were learning how different clouds look. And their motions. Wind makes clouds move. Clara took us outside today. Then we saw clouds. She taught us that when they're dark and overcast a lot of water can come out as rain. Those are called stratus clouds. Cumulus clouds are fluffy. Cirrus clouds are kind of straight and wispy. Today it was overcast. There were stratus clouds outside. We took the temperature outside. It was 32 degrees. Today Clara also read a book about clouds. She's teaching us about clouds.

Today we finally had outside recess! We couldn't go on the jungle gym because it was all icy and we weren't allowed to go on the snow, but who cares? Recess like this is better than no recess.

Adios, familias!
